Bollywood’s latest success formula is a remake of classic old films and one of the movies which is in the process of being made again is Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer Satte Pe Satta. As per reports, filmmaker Farah Khan is helming Satte Pe Satta remake and the prospective stars being considered is Hrithik Roshan. While nothing has been officially announced, a recent report claimed that a few years back, it was Salman Khan’s brother and filmmaker, Sohail Khan who wanted to buy the rights for Big B’s film. 

As per a report of Bollywood Hungama, Sohail Khan was the first filmmaker who had approached the marketing firm which had the rights of Satte Pe Satta to buy the same. As per the report, Sohail wanted to direct the film with Salman Khan as the lead. However, Salman didn’t have any dates to shoot for the film till 2019. Hence, the purchase of the rights of the film didn’t happen. While the Publicist, Rajesh Vasani had made a facebook post a few years ago stating that Satte Pe Satta will have a new avatar, he didn’t reveal anything further.

As per a source is seen quoting in the report, “A couple of years ago, Sohail was keen to acquire the rights of Satte Pe Satta to remake it with Salman, playing Amitabh Bachchan’s role. It’s a double role and Salman would have been ideal to play the ideal brother. But as Sohail didn’t have Salman’s dates till 2019, and Rajesh Vasani wanted to start it earlier, he had to turn down his offer.”

Meanwhile, Salman is busy with a couple of projects. The actor is shooting for Dabangg 3 with Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan and Sudeep. The film is helmed by Prabhudheva and is slated to release on December 20, 2019. Also, Salman has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah with Alia Bhatt. The film is a love story and is expected to release on Eid 2020. Meanwhile, there have been various reports stating that Hrithik is in talks with Farah Khan for Satte Pe Satta remake.
